Day 5, today I woke up to a loud sound coming from outside, nothing major just the sound of my workout buddies knocking out Ab Ripper X in the garage! I did notice a massive headache so I quickly drank 20 oz of water and took my supplements. The water didn’t really help and I also noticed my legs were really sore. I had heard that around this time your legs get tight and it’s hard to stretch… I am usually pretty flexible, I can lean over and put my palms on the floor, today I couldn’t push past my shines. Crazy. One thing I am taking away from the Ultimate Reset is a new food I will eat all the time. Steel cut oats, made with half water and half almond milk, with a touch of organic maple syrup and fresh fruit!

For lunch I got to make a new quinoa dish with green beans, red pepper, carrots, and broccoli. It was pretty tasty, probably because I was so hungry:

The day was rough, my head hurt all day long, my muscles were sore and I was pretty crabby. I made my best effort to “choose my mood” and try to be a good dad and husband, but I’ve definitely had better days. Dinner was hard because the family was ready to eat at 5pm and I had to wait another 30 minutes before I could eat my microgreens salad and side of quinoa. They ate lasagna and I watched them… it was hard but I didn’t cave in, I had a lot of negative talk at the table like, “I’m done with this, I’m hungry, this is crazy”. So then Stephanie fine quit… Snapped me back into reality that I had made a commitment and I’m seeing it through! 5:30pm rolled around and I could eat my food, unfortunately I put WAY to much Braggs amino acid into the quinoa and it was to nasty to eat, so the salad is all I got to enjoy:

As I’m typing this now I’m very hungry and I’ve finished my gallon of distilled water by 10pm. My head still hurts and I’m tired. Overall day 5 was the toughest day yet… Can’t wait for my Tropical Shakeology in the morning, it’s much needed!

Day 4, I actually woke up a little tired and groggy. I was however looking forward to my breakfast:

Fresh fruit, a piece of whole grain bread, and a 1/2 cup of nonfat greek yogurt with a 1/2 T of organic maple syrup! Lunch was good, I do like salad and today I made a new garlic olive oil dressing! I also got to eat the left over of my professionally made vegetable sushi rolls. They were good, but I do like shrimp or salmon in them for a little extra something.

Throughout the day I paced myself with the distilled water, the supplements have been taken right on time! My snack again was 1 apple with 1T natural peanut butter.

Dinner was quick and amazing, I was going to make my vegetable stir fry but had an offsite meeting that changed up my schedule. So my friend and I made a stop at Ghenghis Grill where I got to create what I “remembered” should be in it. Tons of veggies, brown rice, hot spices, and I added a 1/2 T of some kind of garlic sauce!

Overall day 4 went by really fast and was a pretty good day!

Day 3 it’s getting easier to sleep in, I am starting to like this… We’ll have to see if I change up my workout time after this reset is over! Breakfast was pretty easy to make:

So far day 3 is not presenting any issues and I’m feeling really good! Lunch was really simple to make, although my dishes do not look as fancy as what’s in the book it’s all there and tastes pretty good. Today I have my microgreen salad with veggies and a side of lentil beans.

Throughout the day I paced myself with the distilled water, the supplements have been taken right on time! My snack again was 1 apple with 1T natural peanut butter.

Dinner was not so good. I did not buy all the nori roll ingredients because I could not find them, and I couldn’t find miso paste? So I stopped at our Sunflower Market and bought vegetable sushi rolls. These were not my favorite and eating the lentil bean salad for leftovers was “too many” lentils for me in a day:

Day 2 started with me easily sleeping into 7am, and missing this morning’s workout was a little easier. I am afraid that the 5 am wakeup call will be difficult 20 days from now… but we’ll deal with that when the day comes! After waking up I stepped on the scale 186.0 down 2.2 lbs from yesterday. For some that would be a big deal, for me, my weight fluctuates 7 lbs easily. I do want to be clear, usually I weigh myself once a week but the scale has never really mattered to me, what I really care to measure is my body fat %. At the end of the journey I will share the before and after information and pictures with you! After the quick weigh in I prepared my breakfast, which was a cup of steel cut oats, 1 cup of blueberries, and a 1/2 cup of non-fat greek yogurt (with a .tsp of organic maple syrup – Grade B). This was one of my favorite breakfasts meals in a long time that I’ve created! I will be adding this into my frequently eaten category on MyFitnessPal!

Lunch was easy but to be honest the preparation of this microgreens salad was not to easy because we do not have a very shape knife… which makes it difficult for cutting vegetables. It’s one thing that the Ultimate Reset suggests is a sharp knife, and so do I!

Throughout the day I paced myself with the distilled water, on day 1 I had 7/8 of the gallon gone by 1pm. With it being 10pm right now I have about 10 oz. to go! That’s a better pace for me. I did mix my snack (1 apple with 1T natural peanut butter) and supplements up on accident. When my alarm went off I thought it was my food alarm, not my supplement alarm so tomorrow I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Dinner was fun because I got to cook Stephanie and the girls pork chops and mac and cheese… don’t worry I didn’t eat that, I had my brown rice and black bean tacos, with some guacamole and salsa PLUS a side of steamed kale.

It might be hard to sense my sarcasm but I do not really care for steamed kale, but I will eat it because I am told to! My pictures do not even come close to what they look like in the book, I really have no culinary skills what so ever, but it has been fun cooking something other than chicken and broccoli! My skills will come with time. Overall day 2 has been great!

Today embarks a new 21 day journey for me! For the first time in a year I slept in over working out. It was nice but I was mentally awake at 6am ready to go hit the gym. I really had to force myself to stay in bed until 7am when the alarm finally went off. When I woke up I stepped on the scale (188.2 lbs) and then drank 16 oz of distilled water with a dash of Ultimate Reset’s minerilze, along with 15 drops of oxygenize and started to prepare day 1′s breakfast, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of whole wheat toast and steamed kale:

It was nothing difficult and made it in no time, tasted great and was ready for the day. I continued to slowly drink my gallon of distilled water all throughout the day. When 10:30am rolled around, it was round two of my supplements minerilze, 15 drops of oxygenize and also 2 capsules of optimize.

Lunch was great because our team went to Jason’s Deli which allowed me to get the perfect pre-made organic microgreens salad!

Dinner was interesting, I forgot that I needed to marinate the salmon so I poured it over it and baked it for 25 minutes. The meal was good except it was my first time boiling potatoes and I removed them 5 minutes to early.

Later that evening I went on a short walk to watch the Oklahoma Thunder beat up on the LA Lakers at the Thunder Dome. It wasn’t that  hard to pass up on the giant hotdogs and popcorn! Overall my first day was pretty great!
